September 2019 Honoree
rebecca johnson 2019 KS, RN
At 6 pm I came into the Emergency Room Trauma bay as a code-red trauma. Becky was shadowing the rapid response nurse. I had been attacked and stabbed multiple times in my neck and right hand. I was unrecognizable when I got there and could barely open my eyes because the blood was caked to my hair and face. Needless to say, it was the scariest moments of my life. Not only did Becky stay with me, but she stayed after her shift was over. She spent over an hour just washing my face off for me so I could be more comfortable. She also put my matted hair up so I wasn't so hot. She talked and joked with me and kept me calm, even though she could have gone home because her shift ended at 6 pm. I can never repay the kindness Becky showed me that night.
Thank you, Rebecca, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
