I want to nominate my co-worker, Becca, for her wonderful job with the pediatric patient on our unit who would not leave the bed and scream every time he was touched. Becca was very patient and nurturing. When he wanted chocolate chip muffins and we didn’t have any in the cafeteria, she asked her mom to bring some around lunchtime. Becca also called around and tried to get a therapy dog to our unit for this patient to incentivize the patient to move. She got him up to playing and walking around the unit and took a child who didn’t want to be touched or walk to a child who didn’t want to leave the hospital. Becca was outstanding with this patient and needs to be recognized. She went above and beyond.
