Rebecca Sanders has a multitude of roles and does each one with the biggest smile. This nurse exhibits an extremely enthusiastic attitude! She sticks up for her staff "family" at all cost. This makes it much easier to come to work knowing that even if staffing issues are not optimal, we know we will be taken care of because momma bear has our back! She stays late to help us out and will pass medications if needed. She has even come in on her day off! She's the first boss I've had that will dirty her hands. She acts like she is one of us and never makes you feel belittled or not important because of role or ranking. She is the best!

The reason for this nomination is to showcase a situation that occurred recently. Becky went out of her way to make a family a priority. This family was told their mother was passing and moments after that their father was also passing. In a matter of two phone calls, their entire world was turned upside down and this family was broken! As staff began to sympathize for this family, we felt helpless. This was frustrating to us because as nurses, our job is to help. Upon hearing the news, "momma bear" stepped in, stayed late, made phone calls, and talked to family to get this husband and wife together so they can spend their last few hours beside one another. So they could hold each other's hands as they took their last breath.

I know one thing about this nurse manger; she is the kindest and most caring person ever! If I didn't work with the staff that I work with and if my manager was not Becky Sanders, I would not enjoy coming to work as much as I do! One thing I know for sure is that this special nurse manager has changed my life and I know that she has touched so many others. I am truly grateful for her!
