April 2025 Honoree
Rebecca Scott, RN
Ms. Scott exemplifies the caring and compassionate spirit that nurses and staff at Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH) strive to provide to all patients. While performing a cardiac procedure on a young soldier facing possible medical discharge, Ms. Scott learned that he and his wife were expecting their first child in just a few weeks. Discovering that the couple, recently relocated and without nearby family or friends, did not have some essentials, were unable to host a baby shower, and couldn't really afford much, Ms. Scott generously offered some baby items from her daughters. This act of kindness inspired others to contribute, resulting in two truckloads of donations for the family. Ms. Scott even provided cupcakes and other supplies to create a memorable baby shower experience. As a result, the couple now has essential baby equipment, including a new bed, highchair, and stroller. Driven by a desire to continue supporting military families, Ms. Scott is exploring the possibility of establishing a dedicated "pantry/closet" at the military base, if one does not already exist, where individuals and organizations can donate items for lower enlisted personnel and their families. Her dedication to helping others makes her an exemplary representation of the nursing profession and Evans Army Community Hospital.
Thank you, Rebecca, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
