Rebecca played a massive role in this and will always be appreciated and remembered.
Rebecca worked with us as a Sister on L24 before moving to a secondment to create a HOBS bay on L25 to create additional capacity for Adult Critical Care, at a time when we face unprecedented pressures on hospital beds. At this time L24 was also very busy with highly acute patients, lots of cohort enhanced care, and not-so-great staffing levels. Rebecca was a great help in ensuring the ward morale on L24 was positive and constantly checked on the health and wellbeing of all staff whenever she had the chance, although she had so much to prepare in her own role. This built so much team resilience and Rebecca would always check on the welfare of our patients also. If we needed any form of support from washes, to help with patients who required 3+ staff to carry out procedures with not enough available staff, Rebecca would be there to support. Although her commitments changed to another ward, Rebecca still kept the staff and patients of L24 in her schedule should her own work allow. I feel that at a time when I personally couldn't always get through a working day, I feel Rebecca was a true advocate for the NHS Leeds ways and trust values and 100% contributed to many staff and patients' physical, mental health, and wellbeing and truly deserves to be recognized and awarded for her amazing character and for just being amazing support in a time we needed it the most.

Just to know that extra support was there when needed really helped and reduced so much anxiety in my working day which ensured I could give better care to patients knowing I had such good team support. Rebecca played a massive role in this and will always be appreciated and remembered. I would like Rebecca to know how amazing and supportive she has been and would love for everyone to know how lucky the LTHT is to have such a supportive Sister like Rebecca Town.
