Rebecca constantly went above and beyond for everyone on the ward and I genuinely believe that she saved my life.
I was admitted to the hospital for mental health issues. It was my first time on the ward after an incident and Rebecca went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. She was on nights, and on my first night on the ward, she made a point of coming to see me and checking in and letting me know she was here to talk if I needed to. Rebecca made me feel so safe from the moment I was admitted and was the supportive and caring figure I needed during that week. She made sure I was able to have my mum by my side and I was able to leave the ward to see my best friend who was my main support system so I didn’t feel trapped. She also stayed with me both nights while I cried and made me feel so safe to tell her exactly how I felt.

I will never forget Rebecca promising me that I would be okay and reminding me how strong I am. She told me that my experience would make me a better nurse in the future (I want to be a nurse) and I will never forget that. She is such an inspiration for me to continue in life and become a nurse, as I would love to be able to help someone in the way that she did me. I remember her also helping the lady in the bed next to me, staying after her shift finished to wash and style her hair and shave her legs for her to make her feel more normal and I thought that that was such a lovely action. Rebecca constantly went above and beyond for everyone on the ward and I genuinely believe that she saved my life. She reminded me of my purpose and made me feel so safe all while reminding me of my strength and providing amazing care. She is truly the best nurse I have ever met and I feel so lucky to have been under her care and to be inspired by her!
