I have been a patient at the Inova infusion center in Fairfax, Virginia, for about four years. in the last two years, Ms. Rebecca Waddell has been one of my nurses. I must say, the entire team is wonderful and dedicated to patient care. Rebecca has become the nurse who most often treats me. What strikes me about Rebecca is her open demeanor. She has the ability to mix the right protocol while adding that personal touch that makes the seven hours that I am there for five days out of a month, tolerable. Rebecca respects her patients and their families. Rebecca gets to know them and treats family members as part of her patient care. Rebecca was out of work due to illness for over a month. During that time she checked on me to ensure I was doing well. While she was out, I wish I had been able to give her some of the care she had shown me. I think the quality I most admire about Rebecca is that she is an old-school nurse. She follows procedure, explains things in terms you can understand, and cares about your comfort. I know Rebecca doesn't do this work for accolades. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and yet, she is not jaded nor does she compromise the quality of her care.
