Rebekah L Stauffer, BSN, RN
Rebekah arrived in the ED office suites to discuss some educational opportunities for ED staff. During our conversation, The ED Director came into the office and said, "I just got a call from charge, they're drowning." He looked at Rebekah and said, "Wanna help?" Rebekah nervously offered her assistance. She called to ensure her childcare, went upstairs, changed into scrubs, and within 10 minutes came back down to the ED.
Though this department is completely alien to her, she dove in and assisted without hesitation. She even made suggestions to an ED provider about lab tests that were typically only performed in MASU. Her willingness to step outside of her comfort zone, enhance department collaboration, and dive headlong into chaos in the interest of patient care proves that Rebekah is the embodiment of, not only Randolph Health Values......but also Nursing care as set forth by Florence Nightingale herself.
