A, my 10-year-old son, is currently a cancer patient undergoing intensive chemotherapy. The whole time we are in infusion therapy, everyone is very friendly. This time in particular, nurse Rebekah was very kind when I was scared or had doubts, with A being very sick. Our spirits and hearts are broken. I had just had a car accident, and we arrived at infusion therapy as always. That day, we had Rebekah as a nurse. Not only did she treat us with respect and a lot of empathy, she also clarified doubts that I had and taught me how to take care of A's port. She made us feel cared for, not only A but also my husband and I, she was always attentive in case we needed anything or had any doubts. That day we went home feeling stronger and more confident, knowing that Rebekah made us feel that everything was going to be okay. She wrote down all the information on a piece of white paper to take home, on which she explained which medications he should not take that day, but the letter was personalized by her, and those details give us the strength to carry on.
