I have seen Rebekah cry with patients and laugh with others. She shows compassion on a daily basis.
Rebekah has been such an incredible role model for me as a young new nurse. There have been a few situations in which I was unsure of how to proceed and she was right there waiting for me to ask her for help. She allowed me to do it on my own but was there as a resource when I needed it. She is an absolutely amazing charge nurse who is always willing to pitch in and lend a hand whenever and wherever it is needed. Rebekah always has a smile but is sure to keep it real with the staff as well as the patients.
She is an excellent advocator for the patients as well as staff. I have seen her cry with patients and laugh with others. She shows compassion on a daily basis. Rebekah makes the time throughout her shifts and even after her shifts to make sure her nurses are in a good place with their situations from that shift. Rebekah has stayed late on multiple occasions to handle situations that started on our shift.
She exemplifies selflessness and is a fountain of knowledge as well as a calming presence in the midst of the chaotic situations I have been a part of and the ones I have witnessed. Rebekah makes sure everyone has the opportunity for a meal or coffee break. She has walked me through some very rare and specific situations on our unit. Rebekah has helped me navigate my entry into the night shift life as a nurse resident. She has stayed behind multiple times after a shift to check in with me after rough situations. Rebekah has been so kind during this learning process and is an excellent example of the qualities that a charge nurse should possess and exemplify. I always look forward to working with her due to her contagious smile and overall attitude.
Rebekah is a phenomenal resource for me as a new grad and I know that she is always there to support not only me but all of the nurses during our shifts. I know she is a safe person to ask questions to and to rely on for personal as well as professional advice. She continually goes above and beyond in so many ways every day. Rebekah is the definition of a caring and compassionate nurse, leader, and friend.
