Rebekah was nominated by a colleague who noticed that her empathy and care for both her peers and her patients were making a real difference on the unit.
Her colleague noted that Rebekah's "superior therapeutic communication skills" helped the distressed family of a patient on ECMO and helped them deal in a healthy way with the loss of their loved one. Her caring nature also comes through when other nurses on the unit are struggling. She is often able to listen and give perspective to her peers and help them with their problems, whether the challenge is personal or practice-related.
