Becky is able to relate to her patient families and share her unbelievable knowledge with enthusiasm, understanding, and heart.
Becky Zeiba is a nurse in Catholic Medical Center’s Special Care Nursery, a unit that employs the Couplet Care model for high-risk and pre-term babies. She was nominated by a family that had already suffered its share of heartache and delivered their baby at 29 weeks.
In nominating Becky, the mother wrote, “She consistently meets all of the following criteria, by exemplifying: true compassion and empathy, with a hint of humor and comedic relief. Not a stranger to the adversities of life, Becky is able to relate to her patient families and share her unbelievable knowledge with enthusiasm, understanding, and heart. She diligently honors Human Dignity by empowering us as parents and thus truly showing the real meaning of patient advocacy; she exudes Excellence in skillset, and knowledge and showcases competency with confidence, not arrogance. She is clearly admired and acknowledged by her peers as a leader, teacher, and friend.” Mom and baby returned to CMC to present Becky with the DAISY Award and read the nomination letter. There wasn’t a dry eye on the unit!
