Regina truly encompasses passion and cares for her patients. Recently in PACU, there was a patient that was deaf. There was an issue with securing a sign language interpreter to be with the patient. The interpreter was on their way but would not be in the PACU for 2 hours. The PACU was able to provide an IPAD to assist the patient, but he had difficulty with expressing his needs. Regina, who was not the primary nurse, came to the bedside and started using sign language to assist the patient. The patient immediately had a huge smile on his face that his needs were being addressed. Regina developed a beautiful relationship with the patient. The patient was so happy with Regina’s care that he wanted her to continue working with him even when the interpreter came to the PACU.
