Regina actively guides patients and coaches them to be active participants in their own care.
Regina Romero has an outstanding history of providing orthopedic oncology patients with a warm, patient-centered oncologic experience. Ms. Romero first contacts patients after their referrals are received; she works closely with specialty physicians to determine the testing needed before the patient presents for consultation. She actively guides patients and coaches them to be active participants in their own care. Many times, the experience of traveling to see a specialty oncologist is overwhelming. Ms. Romero listens to each patient's concerns and helps the patient address potential barriers to their care.
Regina is able to run a complex department with referrals from the entire region making sure that patients with extremely rare cancers (bone and soft tissue tumors) get all the radiology, lab, radiation therapy, doctor, and surgeon visits even though they might be coming from anywhere in southern California. Regina is well-liked by all the staff and is seen as a caring and compassionate leader in the department and her ease in dealing with other departments like Radiology and Pathology makes her an invaluable leader and caregiver.
