Reginald Smith has always been one of our RN'S that has adapted quickly, and his personality and compassion shows. I have high regard for his character which was shown when we had a busy night. He was tripped on his way to get meds by an elderly patient with a suitcase as they were walking, obviously struggling a bit. Reggie dropped all the stuff that he had and helped this patient's family to come see a very sick family member. It was not even his patient! I told him thank you for doing that, and he said he would have done it for anyone. The family approached me and wanted to thank him at the end of the shift but they didn't catch him. They were looking for the nurse who helped them, and I told them I was going to make sure my director would find out and be happy to hear the heartfelt gratitude, and for that display of commitment and professionalism. I am nominating him as this is not the first time he was recognized by family members, he values work and treats everyone as family. He is a great example of our pride standards and has shown extreme potential in his young career. Kudos bro!
