Our Regional Hospital of Scranton ICU is celebrating one year of surviving the Covid pandemic. Our unit became Covid central very quickly in March 2020. As our country closed down the ICU overflowed. We quickly learned how to preserve our N95masks in a paper bag for a week, Droplet Isolation, Ventilators, Proning, Paralyzing, and family FaceTime became daily routines all with few positive outcomes. We laughed awkwardly and cried frequently. Our staff worked together daily and suffered no Covid outbreaks on our unit by our staff. Together we survived the year through the world's largest pandemic in history! We are proud of our work values and team performance. Without our teamwork, none of us would have been able to continue the fight. Go Team ICU!
