When I entered the hospital I was very scared as my hemoglobin was low and something was wrong with my kidneys. While all the nurses were great, Rehana stayed and listened to my fears and made me comfortable by explaining each procedure and what the likely outcome would be. She was professional, empathetic, and charismatic. Post procedures, Rehana made me feel cared for making sure to explain every step of care as she performed it. After having a few days off and returning to work she had extensive conversations with me making sure everything went well. After revealing to her no one knew or had the time to flush my nephrostomy tubes she apologized and immediately flushed them and did dressing changes. She even ensured on days when other nurses were assigned to me that they were flushing my tubes going as far as to teach new nurses how to flush my tubes and pull my temporary dialysis catheter. She was patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging with the newer nurses who took care of me giving them the confidence to become a proficient nurse.
