I had surgery this morning where it was planned to have me go home that afternoon. Yet we all know that things don’t always go as planned. I waited in postop for a room for quite a while as multiple other patients were sent to this unit. That didn’t phase Reiko at all, and she took my lengthy records in a manner that I easily understood. She asked her own questions when needed. She checked for my understanding as well. Reiko stopped by the room repeatedly to see how I was doing. She kept careful watch on my blood pressure since that was part of my reason for admittance. She also put me on a scheduled time for Tylenol. That all sounds easy, but it required so many steps. She always entered the room with a smile on her face and just to check to see how I was doing. She made me laugh and put me in a relaxed state while I awaited my bed. She showed great teamwork with her PCT. She is the best!
