Reinaldo (Rey) Flores-Vasquez, RN

My husband had a total knee replacement. Rey was our “ray of sunshine” post-op day. Rey’s personality instantly drew us into him. He was attentive, professional, caring, and empathetic to my husband’s needs. Post-op day 2, the meds had worn off and the narcotic ordered was not sufficient for my husband to participate in PT. Throughout the entire day, Rey listened to our concerns and went above and beyond to assist us in getting additional pain meds. He did not hesitate in calling the provider multiple times. Although Rey had multiple patients, he still managed to make us feel as if we were his only patient.

Rey is a team player helping all of his coworkers and has one of the most positive attitudes and outstanding work ethics I have ever seen. Rey is an example of a true leader that other nurses admire and strive to mimic. Rey greeted us in the morning prior to his day beginning, introduced the incoming nurse both days, and said goodbye to us when his shift ended. Rey is a true example of what a caring, competent, empathetic, patient advocate looks like. He was a true blessing to us during our stay and is an exemplary RN who is a perfect example of a DAISY Nurse.
