I have had the privilege of working with Rene for over 30 years at MWMC in several different situations. She is one of the most professional nurses I’ve ever met. Rene has a passion for nursing and consistently seeks to advance and promote nurses. Her past and current service on the ONA education committee is evidence of her eagerness to constantly improve the level of nursing care our patients receive at MWMC. Rene works circles around most of her coworkers. She never slows down until every patient's needs are met, often stepping in to answer lights or help patients outside her assignment. She is careful to answer every question her patient or the family member may ask in a way that is easily understood. Her demeanor inspires trust in all those around her, including patients, family members, physicians, and coworkers. Her careful use of humor often puts our nervous patients at ease. Rene's name is frequently mentioned in any thank you notes received in short stay. One example is “Thank you to Rene, who did my check in. I appreciate your compassion and professionalism”.
