Renea Rose, RN
Renea took care of me during one of the scariest times of my life, an unexpected 10-day hospital stay that left me feeling overwhelmed, uncomfortable, and afraid. From the very beginning, we connected, and she quickly became the comfort I was so desperately seeking during such a difficult time.
After my surgery to place a new dialysis port, I began having an allergic reaction and was extremely uncomfortable. Renea knew how important it was for me to get my dressing changed, and she advocated for me endlessly, truly going above and beyond to make sure my concerns were heard and addressed. She did everything she possibly could to make sure I received the care I needed, and I felt seen, heard, and protected because of her.
After four phone calls and refusing to take no for an answer, she made miracles happen, and my dressing was changed within a few hours. I truly believe she prevented a potential infection, and it provided me an unspeakable amount of relief. All of the wishes I could have hoped for in that moment were granted because of her persistence.
What makes Renea so special is how deeply she cares. She took my feelings and emotions to heart and made it her personal mission to advocate for me. Even though she had just arrived as a travel nurse the week before, she is already thriving here and making a difference. I know she is here working hard to support her beautiful children, whom she misses dearly, yet you would never know it by the way she poured so much compassion into my emotional and physical well-being.
She even came back to check on me before my upcoming bone marrow biopsy because she knew how scared I was. That small act meant more to me than words can express. Empathy, selflessness, and strength are an understatement when describing Renea's greatest qualities. Mentally and physically, she helped heal something inside me during a time when I felt incredibly vulnerable.
Renea deserves more than words can express. During one of the most frightening times in my life, she made me feel safe, heard, and cared for in a way I will never forget. Because of her, I felt less alone when I was at my most vulnerable. The compassion she showed me changed my hospital experience completely, and I will carry the comfort she gave me in my heart for the rest of my life.
