This nurse does not have a problem speaking up about safety. She’s involved with HAPI rounds. She assists with Audits. She networks with pharmaceutical companies to provide education for inpatient and outpatient staff. She serves as an educator for our service line!

I would like to nominate my coworker for the Nurse Educator DAISY Award. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that all staff members are well-informed and confident in their practice. She often arrives early or stays late so that both shifts have the opportunity to receive education on new topics, demonstrating her deep commitment to our team’s growth and patient care. What makes her especially impactful is her humility and dedication to lifelong learning. She never presents herself as a “know-it-all,” but instead asks thoughtful questions and encourages open discussion, reminding all of us that learning is a continuous process no matter how experienced we are. She chooses to keep her “office” on the unit floor, making herself readily available and accessible to the staff she supports.
