I nominate Renée M. Fluhler for the 2023 Student DAISY Award in honor of her remarkable dedication and compassion for the nursing profession. To know Renée is to adore her. Renée possesses many leadership qualities and has outdone herself representing the SUNY Orange Nursing Class of 2023 as Vice President. Renée is the type of individual who is organized and meticulous, always has a smile on her face, and is always willing to help other students when needed. She has proven to go above and beyond to help her peers and has also taken extensive measures to help guide underclassmen who confided in her during times they were struggling. Renée has put aside countless hours of her time to guide underclassmen with techniques and formats that have proved to help them be successful throughout nursing school.

In addition, Renée has dedicated countless hours to this program, and it shows in her stellar academic status over the past two years. Since day one of nursing school, Renée has maintained a work ethic that is unmatched. She has spent countless hours in the skills lab and has dedicated an extensive amount of time to studying. If you ask anybody in our program, we all know that we can count on Renée to know the answers to our questions, and she will even have the page number in the textbook to back up her answer. Renée possesses many of the qualities that it takes to be a nurse: compassion, leadership, patience, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a warm presence. Any patient and their family will be blessed to be cared for by Renée. Her hard work and dedication to this program is the reason why she she will be the most incredible nurse.
