I was admitted to the hospital in the morning complaining of chest pain. The emergency room said that I did not have a heart attack. Nevertheless, they wanted to check further to see why I had pain. I was moved to the third floor. Here I first met the most wonderful nurses. Immediately, they told me that they were going to take good care of me. In previous years, I have been in two hospitals in New York and a hospital in Virginia. Not any one of those hospitals treated me as this beautiful nurse did. She was in and out of my room so often that I thought I was in a private room and she was assigned to care for only me. Upon questioning her, she said she had many other patients to attend to as well. How could she when she was constantly in and out of my room and always asking me, "Is there something she could do for me." I came to the hospital nervous and afraid that I was having a heart attack. She assured me that I would be alright. One thing that really shocked me was when Nurse Renee was going off duty, she came and told me she was leaving but that she would be back tomorrow to finish taking care of me. Never have I been told that by a nurse in the other hospitals. She returned the next day as she said, and I was not in the room when she returned because I was taking tests. Nurse Renee asked where I was and she came to where I was just to make sure I was okay. When I returned to the room, she said, "It's about time you came home" and she gave me a big hug. I was really a VIP with this above and beyond nurse.
