I instantly relaxed knowing that I was going to receive the nursing care that I needed.
This nomination was received from a retired nurse who had her second orthopedic surgery at Fishers:
Body language and tone of voice are key indicators to me of someone’s genuine (or not genuine) concern and caring for others. As a post-op joint replacement patient whose block wore off early, when Renee said, “Don’t worry, I will give you your pain medication on time every four hours throughout my shift, and we will keep you comfortable,” the sentence was spoken calmly and confidently.
I instantly relaxed knowing that I was going to receive the nursing care that I needed. Renee is a good listener - she leaned in and had direct eye contact when I spoke to her. That really showed me she cared about my concerns. She was just amazing. As a retired nurse, you have certain expectations as to the health care that someone should receive, and Renee exceeded those expectations
