Rheannon Hess, CRNP
Rheannon is a General Surgery CRNP. The other day, she offered to help a busy floor nurse provide extensive hygiene care to a patient who was confused, isolated from COVID, and soiled. She donned PPE without hesitation and provided comfort, bedside care, and support to the patient and nurse. She did not rush the nurse or patient. She held the patient's hand and reassured her in between care.
In addition, she takes the time to walk patients in the hallway when they are post-operative, even though that is considered a floor nurse task. Not only does she utilize this time to get to know and empower her patients, but she also helps them recover quicker and avoid re-hospitalizations/complications. Rheannon simply jumps in whenever there is an opportunity, regardless of "her role". She is so humble, kind, and giving to her patient population.
