Rhia oozes the UHL trust values and is a true asset to the Ward 19 nursing workforce. My youngest son was an inpatient for 12 days on Ward 19, and we felt at ease whenever she was on the shift. She cared for our son so attentively and reassured him during a worrying time, both before and after the operation. What was most profound was her ability to advocate for him when processes and systems were delaying his care or treatment due to differences in specialties. Rhia was professionally assertive and advocated for him to ensure he got fair and timely treatment and care. Rhia is a newly qualified Nursing Associate, and I know she will go very far in her career; we wish her all the best. When we were upset, she displayed empathy and real compassion.
