Rhiannon truly embodies our always values, and I could not think of someone better to be recognized with a DAISY Award for her dedication to our team, our caregivers, and our institution.
The Dolphin ward has been exceptionally busy lately with multiple complex care patients requiring maximum intensive care support. We recently had a patient with not only multiple complex medical diagnoses but also a complex social background. I was the bedside nurse for the two nights prior to their passing, and Rhiannon was the ANP.

Rhiannon barely left my bedside for those two shifts. She communicated with the multiple parties involved in this little one’s care and well-being and did so with such grace and compassion. I’ve been working alongside Rhiannon for almost three years now. She has displayed unwavering support as we battle through the days and nights to give the best chance to all the fragile little lives we encounter. However, she also shows never-ending support to the entire medical team and to the caregivers. My words will never fully encompass all the wonderful attributes that makeup Rhiannon.

She embodies our always values to her core and exemplifies them in all her actions on and off the ward. Rhiannon is a master of the art of advocating, honoring, loving, and motivating. She always goes above and beyond. She’s always striving to learn more, develop her skill set and knowledge, and pass this on to the greater medical team. She never fails to take an opportunity to teach and help us all progress in our careers. She takes the time to connect with caregivers and parents and continues to check in with them throughout their journey with us. She is passionate about her work and the work of others. Rhiannon is an exceptional member of our healthcare team, and we are so lucky to have her.

She takes the time to teach us all. She takes the time to connect with caregivers despite the heavy workload she has. And mostly memorably, she treats all our patients with the utmost love and care. She’s attentive to detail. This was evident in the little life I mentioned earlier. Rhiannon compassionately discussed the act of withdrawal with a caregiver. A heartbreaking event, but it was an honor to witness her not only be so professional at that moment but truly display to them how much we are fighting for their little life. Rhiannon truly embodies our always values, and I could not think of someone better to be recognized with a DAISY Award for her dedication to our team, our caregivers, and our institution.
