November 2023 Honoree
Rhonda Johnson, RN
“Upon arriving on the unit, I met Rhonda,” the patient said. “She was the angel dressed in blue scrubs whom God provided to help me through my recovery. When she became my nurse, I felt like my mom was caring for me.” Rhonda went above and beyond to provide care, emotional support, and encouragement. She became a source of inspiration, a friend, and a counselor.
The patient credits Rhonda for their progress, helping them successfully complete physical therapy and even learn how to walk again. “The morning I left St. Luke’s, I cried,” the patient said. “Rhonda came into my room with a hug, a gift, and a smile. The gift was a sunshine pillow, so I could always have sunshine and know that she is always in my corner. I will never forget how she believed in me, encouraged me, helped me, and supported me.”
Outstanding work, Rhonda! You’re truly an example of what it means to be a nurse at St. Luke’s.
