Rhonda became someone we could trust and count on and she set the standard of care for our daughter.
Having your first child and ending up in the NICU can be a very frightening experience. Luckily, we were fortunate enough to have Rhonda caring for our daughter. She would check on our daughter, even when she wasn't assigned to her care, to see how she was doing. Not only did she make sure our daughter was okay, but she also made sure my wife and I were okay. She took the time to get to know us and our daughter. She knew I was a pianist, so she would put music notes on our daughter's board. She knew my wife loved elephants for our daughter and made a one month card with elephants on it with our daughter's footprints. Rhonda became someone we could trust and count on and she set the standard of care for our daughter. Even when it looked like she was busy, she would stop what she was doing and give her undivided attention to my requests. If she didn't have the answers, she would make it her mission to find out. Honestly, leaving the NICU is going to be hard knowing we won't have Rhonda caring for our daughter.
