My mother-in-law had surgery, then was admitted to Med Surg for what we thought would be one night. Immediately, Rhonda welcomed us all and made us feel like she was in capable hands, and for us, that was huge. Rhonda put our concerns to rest by explaining in detail what we should expect. When we arrived the next day to take her home, we found Rhonda patiently waiting for her outside of the bathroom; she had some complications.

Rhonda quickly became her best advocate and called the Surgeon's PA to apprise them of the situation. She kept in contact with us and took excellent care of my mother-in-law. Ultimately, the decision to have her stay another night was made, and a possible discharge the following day was planned when she was more stable. I cannot credit Rhonda enough. We have seen many nurses in a few different facilities, and this nurse is something very special. She went out of her way to take great care of our family member and was very compassionate and caring. As far as we are concerned, Penn Highlands needs more nurses like Rhonda. She is an incredible asset to Penn Highlands. No one wants to stay in the hospital, but Rhonda made her stay much less stressful for her and our family. We again want to say a Big Thank You.
