Without hesitation, (not knowing where he lived) this nurse pulled out her phone and said “No, I’m calling you an UBER.”
This nurse is caring, and compassionate and has outstanding nursing skills. In the short time I have known her, I have observed multiple caring acts she has performed. However, I’m writing this letter for the amazing deeds I witnessed in the past week. While working in the tent, a surgery patient needed to get the COVID-19 test. He was escorted to the tent by a SDS associate. We performed the test, then commenced questioning the gentleman about his ride home. He told us his nephew dropped him off and he would probably walk home. Without hesitation, (not knowing where he lived) this nurse pulled out her phone and said “No, I’m calling you an UBER.” We then found out he lived off South Parkway and was having a hip replacement in two days. She proceeded to accompany this gentleman to the front lobby and stayed with him until the UBER arrived.
Also, while working in the tent she has made informational flyers for people unable to get their test due to no insurance or no symptoms. These flyers give them information on other testing sites with no restrictions or cost.
She is not only an outstanding nurse, but she is also an exceptional human being. She teaches her children these amazing traits as well. Each month they make baskets and distribute them to different nursing facilities. Rhonda Pendleton is remarkable.
