My patient started to have hallucinations that people were under her bed and chair in the room. I tried all I could to calm her down and reassure her that no one was there. I even offered to take the chair out of the room. Our staff could not get the patient back in bed to rest her swollen, weeping feet.

The patient wanted men to come in and move the furniture within the room. I contacted Richard for some help. Richard came into the room with the HS and went above and beyond to assist the patient. She would not allow anyone to take the chair out of the room so he lifted the chair up so she could see under it as well moving the bed.

He, along with the HS, convinced the patient to return to bed and elevate her legs. He provided a sense of security for the patient that made her want to get back in bed for safety and medical treatment. I was grateful that Richard was here and willing to assist on my random call. Together, they showed compassion and truly embodied MLH quality standards.

Thank you, Richard, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
