Richard is by far the nicest human being I have ever met as a nurse; truly special. He made my mother feel as if she was the only patient in the entire hospital. He took the time to explain to my mother and me everything from the medication to what to expect next. My Mother has difficulty sleeping, but when I saw her the next day she said she slept like a baby because he made her feel safe. He is beyond caring and kind. He is genuinely compassionate. Mom was scared, he calmed her. My Mom didn't understand, he explained. He is exactly what every nurse should strive to be. My mom is my world, and I felt safe leaving her in his care. I am truly moved to tears about Richard and the compassion he has for nursing. This is not a job for him, it is a calling.
