Richard sincerely listened to me, taking the time to hear what I was saying rather than continuing to do intake or vital signs-which he did afterwards. He also helped me post an office visit about a week later, through "MyBassett" and calling me at home and getting a doctor to call me regarding a wound care problem. He persisted until he got results, as I had about 8 messages to 3 different practitioners regarding my wounds (from surgery), and no one was replying or calling me. He got one of them to contact me by calling them at the end of his workday. Richard exemplified the facility's mission, vision, and values, but additionally, he demonstrated patient advocacy and each of the 5 criteria for this award. Sincerity, compassion, and empathy. You could hear it in the sound of his voice and in his eyes. He was kind and definitely resourceful in finding and contacting at least one of my providers to get back to me the same day. He was very selfless as it was time for him to end his long workday, but instead of going home, he made phone calls that were needed for me to get the care that I wasn't getting. I am grateful for Richard. He is a trustworthy, admirable, and resourceful nurse for this practice.
