I was admitted to Rex Heart and Vascular for a Carotid Endarterectomy. Following the procedure, I was moved to HV Cardiac ICU 5th floor. Upon entering my room, Nurse Rieann McDaniel introduced herself and efficiently attached my various connections. As she worked, she described every action in advance. She was extremely attentive and exhibited genuine compassion for my comfort. She especially sought to overcome by anxieties with her calm, cheery and in-control demeanor throughout the remainder of her shift with me.
In my business life, I was required to seek individuals who exhibited obvious leadership qualities. I recognized this gift in Nurse McDaniel in her overall performance. I would endorse her for any future leadership position without question.
Nurse McDaniel not only was a comfort to me, but she also showed compassion and caring for my wife who was with me during my stay. The next morning, she was not assigned to me but did stop in to say hello and to see how I was progressing.
Nurse McDaniel was a beacon of light during my stay at REX Heart & Vascular.
