March 2022 Honoree
Rihannon Armstrong, BSN, RN
Rihannon was aware of the situation with my service dog, Moose. Moose couldn’t be alone while I was in surgery, and hospital policy was to call animal control if I had no one to take my dog. Instead, Rhiannon called her husband and spoke to him about the situation. I handed off Moose gratefully knowing he would be in good hands. By the time I woke up in the recovery room, Moose was back at my side. I never asked Rhiannon to help me figure out what to do about Moose. She simply took charge of the situation so that I could focus on what lay ahead of me.
Thank you, Rihannon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
