Rikki Smith has gone above and beyond the call of duty. The first day we were blessed to have her as our nurse and I knew immediately we were in the best of hands. She has taken nursing to a new level. She not only cared for the physical body but also our minds and souls.
Every day that I woke up to find Rikki as our nurse, I knew any obstacle we may face that day she would be handling it with us hand in hand. Every time I asked her opinion on anything I trusted what she had to say because I knew it was coming from a place of genuine care and concern for my daughter's recovery. She not only cared for my daughter but she cared about me. She made sure I understood everything and that I felt comfortable with every decision that was made.
Rikki could tell when I was having a difficult time or when I was scared, or when I was just worn out, and she did whatever she could to make me feel better. She called the chaplain when she knew I needed extra support. She was always available to listen with a smile and hug for reassurance. Rikki is by far the best nurse we have ever had the pleasure of working with.
