When a patient has to deal with surgery and the uncertainty, abnormality, and fear that overcomes them, it’s a breath of fresh air when someone “special” enters your hospital room with a certain kind of knowledgeable grace that immediately calms your fears and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling. Someone who oozes professionalism and sincerity. We found that in Riley. Although certainly not the most critical of surgeries when you think “triage”…to us, it was our reality and deserved the same attention as a gravely ill patient. And Riley exemplified true compassion, attention to detail, remarkable patience, and unwavering accommodation to my husband’s care.

Riley was friendly, approachable, and yes, even fun given the circumstances. She was consistent in her abilities as a nurse and attentive to the ups and downs of patient care.
