Rinku joined our 4 South team and then "bam" COVID 19. She was new to being an RN in our country. She quickly learned her way here and I quickly recognized her as being outstanding! She is a natural leader, always looking for those that need help. She has been a wonderful preceptor for both agency and our new employees. She even oriented an RN for another unit. She has stepped up in a time with lots of employee movement. As some left to try agency, our unit was struggling with having a charge nurse. Rinku eagerly learned the role and has been performing in this role intermittently over the past two years. She is organized, pays attention to detail, and is happy to help others as well as being very approachable. She keeps the manager aware of any concerns and also keeps the floor running smoothly. During leader rounding, when Rinku is caring for a team, it is a regular occurrence for them to point out the great care they receive from her. Rinku also works to keep morale up on the unit and often cares for her peers by sharing snacks or a walk during stressful times. Recently, Rinku has shared that she applied to continue her nursing education, hoping to obtain her MSN! Rinku is also an RN that cares about the well being of healthcare workers. She has been working on a project with another RN on the unit to address this. She has reached out to our nursing educator and worked with the research instructor to help find the best evidence out there on this topic. She is hopeful to complete the project and present it to the Professional Development Council to become part of our Professional Development Program. She will do great things, I just know it!
