My son K was brought into A&E in October 2024 with severe stomach pain, distention, and was generally really unwell. We've met Riona before, as K had previous admissions. She knew K wasn’t right, and she got him seen to right away. She knew the symptoms he was displaying were septic and acted so fast, but also supported me massively and made sure I was okay. K has down syndrome and learning disabilities, and she just knew how to approach him medically and in a way that wouldn’t distress him anymore than he already was. She really was a massive help that evening and I really appreciate the care she took of K and me in the most distressing time we were having. She's so kind and considerate and a generally beautiful person.
