May 2024 Honoree
Rissa Elle de Angelo, MEd, BS, RN, AAPS, PCCN
This nurse helped me navigate my care plan and helped me prepare for the next steps. Teaching me necessary sternal precautions. She provided exemplary paperwork on the medicine to take and when to take it. She left very little to guess and reduced my need for follow up. She helped me through my next steps in care and answered all my questions regarding my next self-care steps. She encouraged me when needed and helped me work through my non-anxiety. The anesthesia medicine did not agree with me. It was encouraging to chat with her, too.
***
She helped make a difficult situation much easier and more accepting. She demonstrated care and compassion in every interaction. There was no sugarcoating; it was straightforward help.
***
One of the most capable and empathetic nurses I have ever met. I would trust her with my life, and I did as an open-heart surgery patient. She answered all of my questions and then some. She had a very positive attitude and always had a smile on her face. No way to be depressed when she was in the room. She adds immensely to the reputation of your hospital.
