Rissia VanVleck, MSN, RN
When I arrived in the Cath lab for my procedure, I still had a lot of unanswered questions and was not feeling well. Rissia was very warm and friendly, answering my questions and preparing me for my procedure. I had a few special requests and she was happy to help me with them. Rissia explained everything to me and asked if I had further questions. I am a retired RN so I appreciate how knowledgeable, efficient, and caring she is. She helped me relax and feel comfortable. Sometimes I am reluctant to tell care providers that I am an RN for fear that they will think I already know everything and they don’t have to explain anything. However, I haven’t worked in acute care in many years and I have not kept up on the newer treatments and procedures. I want to know what is happening. Sometimes being a nurse makes me worry about the worst outcome. I was also impressed with the nurses in the cath lab and how well they worked together as a team. I felt that I was in competent hands. I appreciate it when I am cared for by nurses who go the extra mile. I also liked it that everyone told me their names. That is something that doesn’t seem to happen very often anymore. What a wonderful staff you have.
