Rita took care of me for an entire day in the PACU after I had to have emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. This was my first pregnancy, and it ended in the most traumatic and devastating way possible. Rita took what was one of the worst days of my life and treated me with the most compassion and kindness. She anticipated my needs, encouraged me when I was scared, spoke gently, and never once rushed me. Through her kindness and understanding, I felt like my healing journey began in that hospital bed before I even left the building. It was only one day spent together, but she’s left a lasting impact on me; the world needs more Ritas.
