Our kid is a special needs child. Hospitals cause her severe stress and anxiety. She barely tolerates meds and staff in the room, and I am not even talking about vital checks. Rita did amazing adapting her care. They got their phones on silent, she printed and put notices on the door to check with RN before entering and got her routine scheduled so she could sleep more without being disturbed. She was the one to find a temporal thermometer, instead of the one that goes under the armpit and takes forever to calculate. Honestly, temporal thermometers should be a default for all toddlers or kids who are not able to understand what is happening. Rita’s thoughtfulness really helped our kid adjust to being here the first days that we were here and that were the most stressful. We are forever grateful to Rita for that. No other nurse has shown us that high standard of care. Her care was truly exceptional and is worth an award or at least our Big Thank You.
