Rita exemplifies what it means to be an Advanced Practice Provider. She is compassionate, a team player, a skilled communicator, and has astute critical thinking. Her bubbly personality and kindred spirit bring warmth and positivity to a unit that cares for very sick patients with grim prognoses. She ALWAYS includes and updates nurses with the patient’s plans of care. As a care nurse, she makes my voice feel heard and my input valued. Rita is incredibly approachable which is especially important on a unit with an influx of new nurses and nurses in graduate school eager to learn. Lastly, prior to leaving each shift, she’ll round on the patients AND nurses asking if anything is needed.
