Rita, RN, the first nurse to care for my husband when he arrived on the floor. Totally committed to seeing to his needs, Rita was helpful in so many ways. She was a constant presence and I really appreciated the extra effort. He has Alzheimer’s and was constantly pulling at his IV. Rita devised a bath cloth with tape around it so that he could “pick” at that instead! I thought it was a great idea…working on the solution, not the problem!! Her concern was serving his needs as well as my needs. I stayed day and night with my husband, and she made sure I had coffee and the linens needed at nighttime. She has a real heart for her patients, and I felt so secure knowing Rita showed such attention to detail in his care.
