I am honored to nominate Riya Nagpal, RN, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion, dedication, and professionalism. During my husband’s surgery and recovery, Riya consistently went above and beyond in caring for him and supporting our family. On the day of his surgery, when we were anxious and repeatedly inquired about his condition, she always responded with patience, warmth, and positivity. She never made us feel like a burden; instead, she reassured us with her calm presence and clear communication. A particularly memorable moment occurred immediately after my husband came out of surgery. He was in severe pain and refused to answer even simple orientation questions. While this situation was extremely difficult, Riya remained steady, firm, and compassionate. She continued to affirm his safety and dignity, showing resilience and empathy when others might have given up. What makes Riya stand out is her genuine passion for helping patients. She treats every patient as a person, not just a case. Her unwavering dedication and enthusiasm brought comfort to both my husband and me, making an enormous difference during one of the most stressful times of our lives. I am deeply grateful for Riya’s care and commitment. She exemplifies the very best qualities of nursing, and I wholeheartedly believe she deserves recognition through the DAISY Award.
