December 2021 Honoree
Robbie Tucker, LPN
My dad was 84 years old and it was very hard for me to leave him and see him struggle. Close to the end of his life, we put him in Hospice. One day I came to visit him and found out his nurse was Robbie. She was always available and able to meet his needs. It touched my heart when she asked me if I could come over the following Monday because she wanted to talk to Hospice and me together to see if it was anything she could do differently to make my dad more comfortable, which I did.
A day or two later she stopped me on my way to Dad's room to let me know that she was going to be off for the next couple of days and she wanted to know if I was going to be coming over as she wanted my dad to feel comfortable. I could feel that she really cared and that made me comfortable when leaving him. He passed away a couple of days before Robbie returned to work. I want to thank Robbie for taking the time to make sure my dad was comfortable. I know it is hard to find time in this busy world of nursing and especially these days with Covid. I just wanted to hug her for the sense of peace she gave me. Thank you so much for taking care of my dad.
