Bob was quick to listen, empathize, and then reassure me that he would take my issues to the proper individuals who could and would expedite my care.
I am writing this letter to recognize the extraordinary efforts made on my behalf by Bob Mitchell, RN working in support of my doctor and other on-staff St. Alphonsus Radiation Oncologists who work in Boise and its satellite locations. Exceptional, patient-focused care is the best way that I can describe the hard-working men and women who serve as nurses in the St. Alphonsus Health System.

When an individual goes beyond what is expected in his or her role as a nurse, then I feel it is important to recognize that individual's actions in a public manner. Thus, I am writing this letter to highlight the actions of Bob Mitchell, RN.

My first contact with Bob was made by telephone when I was frustrated, hurt, and feeling out of options. I was connected to Bob as a resource who might be able to resolve my concerns. Bob was quick to listen, empathize, and then reassure me that he would take my issues to the proper individuals who could and would expedite my care.

It is important to understand that Bob could have easily communicated that I needed to call back and ask for another department. Instead, he took it upon himself to make the necessary connections with the St. Alphonsus medical professionals who could address my immediate medical needs. The afternoon I got a call back from Bob stating that my medical problem was being addressed, I broke down on the phone with tears of relief.

Bob Mitchell, RN, thank you for caring enough to go the extra mile on my behalf. For taking on my problem as if it were your own. Thank you for being there for me when I needed help. For being a St. Alphonsus Registered Nurse working in our community and applying yourself to ensure our wellbeing.
